Mishel Horta is a purpose-led change agent with 15+ years of experience designing, leading, and driving Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging initiatives across a variety of industries and organizations. Mishel’s purpose is to create more inclusive workplaces where all identities can feel seen, heard, valued, and like they belong.

At DHL Express, Mishel leads a comprehensive DEIB strategy which focuses on sustainably building inclusive and equitable practices and programs to create a great workplace and foster belonging for 30,000 employees across the Americas region. Mishel works closely with functional and business leaders to deliver results, actively coaches country leaders to become DEIB champions, and fosters belonging through empathetic curiosity and engagement across the organization.

Mishel has a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, with a Paralegal Certificate, from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN. She grew up in Mexico and moved to the U.S. with her family as a teenager. She now resides in South Florida and spends her time running half-marathons, painting, spending time with her rescued dog and cat, and being an active caregiver to her elderly mother.
