
Eileen McGivney

Next Level Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education
Eileen McGivney is currently a PhD student, instructor, and researcher at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is a member of the Next Level Lab. The lab, led by Dr. Tina Grotzer, researches learning design and technologies that address urgent issues in workforce access and development, specifically in the context of evolving economic pressures. Eileen’s research focuses on the potentials and challenges of learning with immersive technologies such as virtual reality, particularly for people of diverse identities and cultural backgrounds. At Harvard, she has conducted research on learning in virtual environments, makerspaces, and massive open online courses. Previously she worked as a research associate at the Center for Universal Education at Brookings and as a research assistant at the Education Reform Initiative in Istanbul, Turkey.

The conference concludes with a highly interactive session featuring Excellence Award winners Baker Hughes and Accenture and their partners from Harvard University and Goodwill Industries International. They will demonstrate and discuss technology innovation and involve the audience in providing feedback and ideas to spur new thinking.
